Assessment- The news article I ran into was by NBC news. The article was written by Elisha Fieldstadt. NBC news is an American broadcast television network. NBC is known as National Broadcasting Company. The president of NBC news is Noah Oppenheim. They aired the first regularly scheduled news program in America. The headquarter is located in New York City, New York. NBC also has many different headquarted such as Universal City, California, Washington D.C, London, UK, and Singapore, Hong Kong.
Summary- The article was about a tragic accident located in Texas from a newly wed couple who flew in an helicopter Saturday(Nov. 3, 2018) and was killed when the aircraft crashed. They couple was Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman Byler. They couple left their wedding reception and hours after they crashed near Uvalde, Texas. The newlyweds were both seniors from Sam Houston State University.
Analysis- The Article first caught my attention, because of the title. the title was, "Texas newlyweds killed in helicopter crash hours after their wedding", when you first read the title you want to read more about it. The author included that the couple was newlyweds so it would catch the audiences attention, which it did. It seems as if the author was not really trying to put out a certain message, but to really inform the audience, but also want the audience to get emotionally attatched to the story. They author also includes interviews from other witnesses and the couples friends and family, so the audience can get a better understanding and also to get more emotionally attached. They also includes that the newlyweds were college seniors and just about to graduate. Information like this will cause the audience to feel sorrow for the couple.
Opinion- This article was very interesting to me. The author did a great way at achieving his goal. I understood the story very well and also became very emotionally attached to the couple. It's very sad to hear what happened to the couple and what their familes have to go through. The story also give helps me understand that anything can happen in a quick second. So, it's best to live life to the greatest. This couple was at the very peak of their game. They were about to get married to their love of their life, and months away from graduation from college. It's sad to hear that the couple was just a few months from having the greatest accomplishment of their lives and it just all goes away in just a few seconds in a helicopter ride.
