Summary: An officer was killed and 6 others were injured in Florence, South Carolina at an upscale neighborhood during a standoff while trying to serve a warrant.  The schools that where nearby were put in lockdown just for precautionary measures. The shooter was an elderly man, who is currently in the hospital under police custody.


Analysis: This news source showing the dangers all police officers can encounter. They mention that the shooting was in a upscale neighborhood, kind of making it sound that just because you live in a upscale location don't mean it can't happen there. trying to show that anyone can be of a danger by mentioning that it was an elderly man that did the shooting.


Opinion: I think this is really sad that an office has to loose his life for doing his job. and yes there is crazy people all over, I think we always have to be prepared for the unexpected and can't trust no one. I bet the cops wasn't expecting for this elderly man to shoot them and probably had their guard down.

The article I choose was posted by NBC news which is directed by Noah Oppenheim. On the NBC news website their claim to their audience is that they intend to satisfy all audiences. Although, I believe that while reading their article they have a drive towards supporting environmental awareness.
