Fox news is one of the main US news sources founded in October 7, 1996. It is known for promoting a conservative or right-wing agenda. This media source presents the news in such a way that pathos is very strong and the audience interacting formulate comments in the same way. Logos is very poor due to its lack of information and relevant facts which would give ethos a much stronger voice. The news report is about a young man being killed by cops in Georgia. This 18 year old man was found to be the main author of the murder of officer Toney. Officer Toney was sent to check a suspicious parked car in which Tafharee Maynard, the murderer, was in. Maynard started the shoot apparently out of nowhere and shot officer Toney. Officer Toney was covered by his coworkers but Maynard finally escaped. Hours after the crime, officer Toney was declared dead. After two days of hard search, cops finally found Maynard in a shed with a lawnmower blade and because he didn't follow instructions given by the officers, he was shot and killed. Police department still looks for two more people who are suspected to have helped Maynard shoot officer Toney and to have helped Maynard hide. What I can see from this news report is that from an overall view it was incorrect formulated. First of all, they assure that the murderer was Maynard in which the final solution was death. Cops had declared that there were three people in the car. Any of the other two could have killed officer Toney. Secondly, Maynard was presented in a way that he was armed and because of that he was a dangerous person for society. With this piece of information, we as audience may want to thank the cops for killing him. Thirdly, poor information was presented as how they found him, what the testimony from the cop who shot him was and what the criminal record of Maynard was. In my opinion, this source news has some issues when presenting the news report. Lack of information, links to other sub-sections where the case is well presented, and a scenario where the bad guy will always be the guy who was killed. I personally would not look for reputable information in this news source.
