CE 3 CNN

I chose CNN this week. It really is unlike the others. It's format is unlike a typical news site. It's full of headlines claiming doctors said things a doctor wouldn't say and the page is even prioritized, not categorized. The whole site takes way too long to load, it has pop-ups, and videos just play without your permission. I chose an article about North Korean cyber attacks. It did the same thing; it took five minutes to load, things began popping up and videos began to play. The article did a decent job of explaining what had happened. It was just saying that North korea has groups of hackers that try to steal money from people around the world. Which is no surprise. Everything besides that could have been done better. The video that wanted to be the center of attention so badly was Kim and Trump shaking hands while a reporter blabbed about their friendship. The article began to focus on specifics between Trump and our administration versus the evil man. It was a joke.

The article I choose was posted by NBC news which is directed by Noah Oppenheim. On the NBC news website their claim to their audience is that they intend to satisfy all audiences. Although, I believe that while reading their article they have a drive towards supporting environmental awareness. The tone in the article felt as if they were almost agreeing with the lawyers and other people behind the movement of wanting cigarette butts banned. In the article "Plastic Straw ban? Cigarette butts are the single greatest source of ocean trash" there is a great amount of information supporting the facts behind cigarettes being the greatest source of trash in the ocean.
