The news source I used for this weeks current event blog is USA Today. It was founded 1982, and there motto is to serve as a connection for better understanding and unity within the whole United States of America and to truly unify that United States as one without bias. This news source was primarily founded by Al Neuharth in 1982 and the headquarters are currently in Virginia. interesting enough their goal is to do this all through a social media platform.
I read about the article "With 911 dispatches in short supply, average response time is slower" in which it is projected that low employment rate can be a threat to our lives as Americans. Your hear about the low employment rate all the time but it does not intensify when you need to dial 911 and you get put on hold. This article explains that crisis that Americans are facing because people have died from delays in 911 calls. The reason being that they are a lot of hurdles they must go through to even get the job and once the job has been obtains they are low paid, over worked and stressed above average.
This article uses other cases to support the claim that we are in danger when it comes to safety issues. It uses a suicude case where the person also died as well as an example where there was a little boy that needed immediate care and was put on hold. In this article there is a also evidence of political issues that are manipulated to help you feel the problem economically, political and civil. The article outlines that problem, why our economy is a problem and what are we finically doing to help it. In many cases the article gives it an emotional connection by adding so many instances where people were affected by the problem in delay of answering 911 phone calls.
In my opinion, the article does a great job in distributing the information. It uses interesting information that I believe is beneficial in targeting different groups of people around the USA. Ultimately, living up to there motto of targeting USA as a whole. The news article was interesting and also contains information that can be useful unlike other sources out there.
