At the Grand Slam Tennis match, the famously known tennis player, Serena Williams, lost to a first timer Grand Slam player, Naomi Osaka this past weekend. Serena is a 23-time major champion, and as her defeat to Naomi Osaka was established, people from the audience boo-ed the new champion. During the match, Serena was frustrates and being counted for cheating during the match as her coach, televised, motioned his hands for her to move forward. Coaching was not allowed though. Throughout the game, Serena had other moments of frustration that led to more counts. Even though she lost the match, she was still show sportsmanship to the winner. Osaka apologizes to the crowd for the moment of Serena's loss and takes her victory still. The bigger issue here is Serena's loss rather Osaka's win to the people.

Sandra Harwitt, the author of this article, reports this event of in tennis history. As she neutralizes the audience's take on Serena William's loss. Harwitt keeps count of the score and sets of each game as she notes the winner and loser of each set. By using Logos, Harwitt accurate score-check and set number proves that she was making sure the results were not false. As Osaka won the match, the audience boo-ed her, but both contesters Osaka and Williams were in tears. The emotional environment described by Harwitt shows the Pathos of her article and allows the audience to understand both tennis players. Harwitt shows ethical credibility by including words from Serena Williams herself and USTA Chairman of the Board and President Katrina Adams about the event.

Serena William's loss of this Open Final match is devastating because she is a 23-time match champion. This could have been her 24th time, but she lost to Naomi Osaka. I understand her pain and frustration in the game as she threw her racket to the ground and was counted for that during the match. Her frustration just exponentiated which initially caused her defeat, in my opinion. The public's response was not happy with it, and I felt bad for Osaka as she won when nobody wanted her to win. Overall, it was a situation that could not been helped.
