Assessment of new source:
CNN is an American cable and satellite television show owned by the Turner Broadcasting System. It was founded in 1980 by an American man named Ted Turner. CNN was the first television channel to have a full 24 hour news coverage and it was the new channel aired in the United States of America. They have a head quarter in Atlanta but it’s only used for weekends. As of August 2010, CNN is approved and watched in more than 100 million U.S. households itself.
Summary:
After a long shift of work, a lady police officer entered an apartment and shot an unarmed man. She THOUGHT the apartment she entered was actually her own, but it turns out that it wasn’t and she had entered the wrong one. The man, Botham Jean, was pronounced dead at the hospital. They released the officer, after being arrested, for a $300,000 bond on Sunday


Analysis:
The goal of this article is to inform not only officers but people in general to be more aware of your surroundings. The wrong decision could cause you to have serious consequences in the future. Think before you act! In the Rhetorical situation chapter that was read in class, bitzer was basically saying think things out before you let it happen. In this situation there could’ve been rhetorical thinking going on.


Opinion:

In my opinion I don’t think the officer should’ve been let go that easy. I understand it was an accident but she should’ve and could’ve been way more careful. I also think apartment complexes should have different ways of helping people realize their apartment complex instead of just having numbers and letters on the side or placed so small on doors. Situations like this one could happen again in the future so we should try our best to prevent it at all cost.

The article I choose was posted by NBC news which is directed by Noah Oppenheim. On the NBC news website their claim to their audience is that they intend to satisfy all audiences. Although, I believe that while reading their article they have a drive towards supporting environmental awareness.
