Urban Myer
My news source was the New York Times. This article was about Urban Meyers suspension and how Ohio State acted upon the evidence. The New York Times is a very credible source as most everyone knows it and uses them to look up news on certain topics. I find That they have a lot of interesting articles but I do think they are very broad but they don't always get news up right away. For instance something that got released today with Odell Beckam jr.. He is now the highest paid wide receiver in the National Football league and i still cant find a single article about it but i'm sure it will be posted tomorrow its just kind of late on the hype train of news.
This article dealing with Urban Meyer and how he handled the situation of his former assistant coach is very difficult to deal with. We dont know exactly what was known about the case with Urban Meyer's knowledge of the acts his former head coach was making. What we do know though is he knew something and failed to act on that not only Meyer however the University of Ohio State failed to look into this until the recent alligations were brought up against his old assistant. Urban always gave his coach verbal warnings but never wrote up any of the acts by his former assistant which he knew about. His former Assistant coach by the name of Zach Smith was fired in July. Everyone wondered what was going on then things just started to unfold leaving a huge trail of all the misconducts going on at the University.
This article is very interesting and has a lot of facts i didn't know with the case. I do feel like there is a biased though as it talks about all the wrong that was done and how Ohio State could have handled this better. Including the title of the article as it says missed signs by Ohio State in Urban Meyer case I feel that it shouldn't play fault on the university when it was there head coach that didn't tell them what was going on internally. A lot of this article is just facts about the case but it does give its view on how he should be punished and this is not okay to just let it go in any sittuation.
My opinion of this article is that I agree with some parts but disagree with others I agree with the fact that Urban meyer should be punished but i don't think the university or the players should be. I think that the university played this perfectly as soon as it knew about it they started an investigation. I also think that Mr. Meyer should have longer than a Three game suspension as this conduct was not okay and i really don't know that he should be coaching anymore. I may be a little biased with that opinion but to me if you knew something was wrong you need to handle it with the university.
