Outfit Ban

  • Assessment (tell about the source): The New York Times was made for people worldwide to have access to it. It’s owned by a family named “Ochs-Sulzberger” but soon the they traded the paper for a class structure. It was found in 1951, winning over 100 Prizers!
  • Summary: Serena Williams attended a French Tennis Federation in a catsuit (jumpsuit). The president of the federation made an announcement saying that he was band the catsuit and make a stricter dress code. He also said that the federation should be more respected. Serena told her interviewers compression shorts and the catsuits helped her blood flow, which caused her to have healing delays, after her childbirth. She didn’t take any offence to the statement he made, she simply respected his decision.
  • Analysis (how effective it was as its goal): The announcement the president made shook of a couple of other tennis players (Billie Jean King and Andy Roddick). They disagreed with the announcement by tweeting that it was dumb and women body shaming should stop. The ban is still under construction and it’s being looked over but it’ll definitely come into play soon.
  • Opinion: In my opinion I don’t think a harsh dress code she be enforced. Like Serena said in the interview the suit did help her with her blood flow after she gave childbirth. She’s not the only tennis player that will go through her situation, especially considering that she’s not the only women tennis player out there.
