Womens rights in the middle east is just little to nothing to where they could be punished to death for speaking out.  In Saudi Arabia a women named Israa is punished by death for speaking out, not so long ago women in Saudi Arabia where granted permission to drive since then the tensions have began because after that women wanted more and more freedom they deserved but the Saudi government wasn't going to allow them to have it. Israa the women being prosecuted by death penalty is the wife of a Shia activist that was also prosecuted by the death penalty trying to talk people into becoming Shia muslims rather then sunni muslims. Saudi Arabia being a predominant mostly sunni kingdom do not accept of Shia activism because of the differences between the two in the religion on how it was formed and Muhammad and Ali being the messengers of god and who of the two really belongs in Saudi Arabia. The government is sentencing both the husband and wife the death penalty for this Shia activism where in reality they didn't commit any physical crimes or in the law where it states any crimes they Committed rather then being Shia activists and speaking out past the sunnis they are looking to change the peoples views on sunni muslims which usually have harsh interpretations on women.
